Mad Men Season 2: The Evolution of an Ad Campaign
Check out the terrific walk through
on the AMC web site for the Season 2 ad campaign for MAD MEN. It does a great job showing the concept stages involved that took the AMC marketing department from start to finish in crafting an ad campaign worthy of the best work from Sterling Cooper!

The ad campaign does a wonderful job at enhancing the MAD MEN captured in time, look and feel of the early 1960s and also showing lead character Don Draper’s path, going against the flow, which is both his strength and what may ultimately lead to his complete undoing on every level. With the series racking up a half dozen creative Emmy Awards last month, including the highly coveted Best Drama Series Emmy, I’m sure we can expect to see more great advertising campaigns that are equal to the quality and integrity of this ad agency series. The AMC marketing team is doing Don Draper and Roger Sterling very proud! It only seems right that the best show about advertising have an award winning level ad campaign.
JOEL KIRSTEIN is a Creative Director who has been in the Ad Agency trenches for 25 years and he looks equally as dashing as Don Draper in a grey flannel suit, with cuff links, a pocket square and a dab of Brylcreem in his hair.
