Sonics’ new spot “The Stalls”
Found an interesting article on Adweek.com. In an effort to be more relatable to the MTV generation; Sonic is taking its long-running Pete and T.J. commercial duo in a new direction. It will be a mimic of MTV’s drama series The Hills, where Pete and T.J. will apparently fall for the same girl. Here is a preview:
I know that the “MTV generation” is the new Gen-Xers (or whatever we were called); but do we have to imitate them in order to intrigue them? I personally find these commercials funny, but don’t you think their campaign headed in this direction would be a copout?
