Logo Inspiration

It’s almost midnight, you have to come up with a logo identity program for a client with a nebulous product and a scattered brand strategy that splits more hairs than static electricity and a blow dryer. Where do you go to get inspired? Where DO you go?

Try these… http://logopond.com LOGOPOND is a great deep reservoir of logos with an endless supply of contemporary, fresh logos with great looks and feels that can definitely take you to a better place at warp speed. These aren’t pie-in-the-sky concepts for make believe companies that exist only in the imaginations of the logo designer. These are used-in-market, living brand identities for companies big and small, from all over the world. This is your next great bookmark!

Still need more logo love? One site I have been a fan of for 5 years is PIXELLOGO. They get it comes to logo design. www.pixellogo.com I don’t like websites that offer logo identity packages for $99. They cut us off at the knees and minimize what we do as designers and that sends the wrong message to the suits who think that design is a commodity that anyone can do, therefore it isn’t worth anything and we’re disposable, not worthy of support, let alone any loyalty. This site offers a basic, jumping off point for the smaller business set and some cool 3D logo treatments. A worthwhile site to look at… ENJOY!

JOEL KIRSTEIN is a Creative Director who has been in the Ad Agency trenches for 25 years and without a doubt creating a brand logo is my favorite design activity!

One Response to “Logo Inspiration”

  1. I love to look at logo’s. I really enjoy designing them and appreciate when someone else does a good job. I have never looked to logo sites during a logo project however. I guess I am scared that subconsciously copy or use an element that I saw. Do you worry about that or do you think I am just paranoid?
