The Britney Spears Sympathy Special
Did you watch it last night? I did. I’ve always liked Britney. We have the same birthday, which is Tuesday. Because of that and she has always been a cute blond I’ve been a supporter. We all know she was over exposed and then went a little crazy. With a lifestyle like she has I can understand. I knew it wasn’t over for her when she shaved her head and stabbed an SUV with an umbrella. The time has come for her newest cd release and it will he on shelves on our birthday this Tuesday. What better way to perk our interest for that than to advertise an hour long Britney special for three weeks. They called it “Britney Spears – For The Record”, but pretty much it should have been “Buy my record”. They said she was going to talk about anything and everything but pretty much it was the same generalized conversation they always do. Every commercial was a Britney perfume so at least BMG or whatever subsidiary paid for it. I guess some of you call it a media blitz. My facebook friends even left comments that they were going to be watching it. Let me get to the point after all this rambling. The one thing that stuck out about what she said was “people believe what they read and hear, and most of it is not true.” Isn’t that the sole point of advertising? Just tell people how good it is and they’ll fall for it? Make people love Britney again and that’ll sell her cd. It all just seems so contrived. Once again that special, the commercials, the countdown before and the little bit of stuff after the special FOLLOWED by a replay of it is typical over exposure that got her down last time. Really though, I hope she does well so Chris Cocker’s bitch ass doesn’t have to put up that curtain again and tell us to leave her alone.
Chris is a designer from NC that has been away for a while and is back at working retail thanks to the joblessness of his area. YES!!!!!!!!!

Hey Chris~ sorry to hear you’re working in retail currently… but happy to hear you’re making some bucks in the meantime.
& Happy Early Birthday!!!
Re: this post…
I do have to politely disagree with you on your Britney love. I wish she would just fade away to wherever it is lame popstars fade off to, only to reappear on the occassional VH1 countdown. It’s ok. … I’ll just keep listening to my scratched up Alice in Chains & Soundgarden cd’s. I realize I’m the only person under 30 who doesn’t dig all things American Idol & glitterized pop-ified.
